From Tammy: I LOVED photographing Alex & Scott’s beautiful wedding on September 15th, 2012. Imagine Marie Antoinette meets The Secret Garden – this day was dreamt from starry skies and completely filled with wonderfully whimsical details!!
Alex is a TRUE visionary! She worked incredibly hard – along with her mom and Chantiza Stern of Table Toppers of Rochester – to create a stunning and intimate event. It was amazing how her entire family and host of vendors pulled together to create this extremely special day. I was SO impressed by this perfect example of vendor collaboration and the wonder-filled wedding it brought to life!
Anything paper, Alex designed. She created everything from her invitations, menus, and place cards to the table numbers, escort cards, and delicate paper signs. Basically, if it was written – Alex made it. And – even if it wasn’t paper – she was the force behind its creation! Alex drew detailed sketches, even before the vendor planning began, and then worked with everyone to make her vision come to life. The final product could not have been more accurate!
Alex & Scott’s day was truly a labor of love! Not only was their day gorgeous – it was EXTREMELY personal. They were married in the same church as Alex’s parents, had the entire reception at her astonishing family home, and showcased both their families’ past weddings at the reception.
Some of my favorite images capture these amazing, personal touches. The vanity Alex sat at to get ready was purchased years earlier by her parents – specifically with her wedding day in mind. When her parents designed their stunning home, her mother created their gently curving staircase from her vision of Alex in her future wedding dress. The true heart of their family connection, though, lies in the photograph of Alex, her mother and her grandmother. Three generations of remarkable women who, together, made this dream wedding a reality!
If you think this wedding is as FABULOUS as I do (and I mean….who wouldn’t!!) go to http://ruffledblog.com/botanical-new-york-weddingr/ to see it featured there. Read all about their day – firsthand – from Alex and see the full gallery of images from their elegant and romantic wedding!
Here are all the AMAZING vendors who made this such a special and distinctive event. And – OF COURSE – I have to thank the phenomenal Ali Dean and Diana Eastman who helped (as second shooters) to capture these incredible images!
